furious toolkit

This is a unique service developed by Furious Fotog in 2020, designed to help authors with emergency rebranding (due to “models behaving badly,” etc) without the use of generative AI. Yep, it's an old school digital slog with several steps.  The Toolkit can also be used for limited character customization.

AI-DETECTOR NOTICE: 

Face replacements may appear as "deepfakes" if using AI detectors, since they replace the original face. THIS IS OKAY.

No generative AI is used in the Toolkit process. Face replacements and other changes use non-genAI methods only, developed during COVID in 2020.

All possible customizations are included in the price of an exclusive FuriousFotog® Image.

REMINDER! Furious Fotog does not use AI-generated artwork or improperly licensed imagery in any of its services, including the Toolkit Service. All software and workflow steps used for the Toolkit Service have been developed by Furious Fotog, is properly licensed, and any stock Images used (royalty-free or rights managed/exclusive) must be licensed for romance book cover use with accompanying releases. Images for sale in the Furious Fotog galleries under the Toolkit section are all owned and copyright to Furious Fotog.

EMERGENCY Rebranding

Had a model go off the rails? Need to replace their face but it's too expensive to license a whole new image? With 30+ years of skill and custom-developed steps, Furious Fotog can perform cost-effective face/head replacement and other changes like hairstyle, eye color, etc. without the use of generative AI. Developed out of a need during the dark years of Covid in 2020, Furious Fotog seeks to use his skills to help lower the cost of such emergency rebrands for authors while maintaining some semblance of semi-exclusivity with modified Images from stock image websites.

Rebranding

A service to help you change a model's appearance quickly and affordably, so as not to add stress!

Face Replacement

$100 flat fee

Total face replacement with hair, facial hair, and eye color changes. Additional options may be added for the pricing as shown in the Character Customization Section below.

Character Customization

Customize a properly licensed stock or exclusive photo to meet your specific character needs.

Level 1 Changes

$25 ea

Eye color, hair color, small tattoo removal, tattoo addition, add facial hair, or shave. Also, add glasses if needed at no additional cost!

Level 2 Changes

$50 ea

Large tattoo (sleeve) removal, complete hairstyle change, age up, age down.

Additional Information

Please Note:

  1. Not all images can be successfully adjusted due to resolution, position, lighting, and other factors, so final acceptance would be based on a case-by-case basis.
  2. Creation of a specific face (especially a known face) is not possible with this service, as it violates the right to publicity and there are no model releases providing consent.
  3. Furious Fotog will not use generative AI to achieve these results. Techniques involved are old-school morphing, copy/pasting, masking, restoration, and sharpening.
  4. Furious Toolkit images are real models who have retired or otherwise cannot display their real face, so have been digitally altered with the additional hand-crafted features above.  These images are made with a process developed in 2020 that does not include Generative AI, but due to recent updates by AI detectors, the face replacements may show up as deepfakes.


Images that are proposed for use in this service are subject to the following copyright restrictions:

  • the images used must be licensed under standard royalty-free terms from Depositphotos and/or Shutterstock with appropriate model and/or property releases, and
  • the images used cannot be made through a generative AI service such as Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, etc, and/or
  • the client must have a royalty-free or rights-managed license from another photographer to use the image on their book covers with appropriate model and/or property releases, or
  • the client must provide a statement that they own the copyright to any image provided, or that they have written permission from the copyright holders where it is held in whole or in part by another party with appropriate model and/or property releases.
  • Tattoos that are added to images will be limited to vector stock or other artistic images licensed from Shutterstock or Depositphotos under Standard Licenses. This is to avoid legal and release issues since actual tattoos cannot be removed from one model and placed on another.
  • Tattoos will not be AI-generated, nor will generative AI tattoos be accepted for placement.
